Pastor Tastonga O. Moore was born in Portland, Oregon to Benjamin and Olivia Baker. She was saved and ordained in her early twenties in the ministry of the Full Gospel Pentecostal Association under the leadership of Bishop A. A. Wells. She moved to Denver, Colorado and co-founded the Grace and Truth Full Gospel Pentecostal Church. Pastor Moore worked diligently in the ministry while maintaining a secular job and her home. In 1991 God called Pastor Moore off her full-time job to volunteer at the Gilliam Youth Services Center. She spent many hours ministering to the girls in the detention center. She attended to the girls’ needs by addressing their issues such as court dates, self-esteem and family. Pastor Moore established such an excellent rapport with the girls that she served as the Girls’ Chaplain. Concerned about the high rate of recidivism to the detention center, Pastor Moore was moved to begin a prevention program for the girls before they got into trouble. She founded the Positive Connection program in 1994 by reaching out to middle school girls. Since then, the program has expanded to serve more girls from the community, Denver Juvenile Court as well as other community justice partners. Positive Connection now provides Prevention, Intervention and Redirection Services to young ladies ages 9 to 18. Pastor Moore is also the Pastor of Grace and Truth Church. She is the wife of Overseer Theodis Moore and the mother of two children. Under her leadership, Grace and Truth is not only meeting the needs of its own congregation, the church is meeting the needs of the community through outreach to women in transition and the nursing home. Pastor Tastonga Moore is an anointed preacher and teacher and is equipping the church to live victoriously through the Word of God. She also serves on community boards and is reaching the community through the love of Jesus Christ. |
